Attractively packaged, this is a bright, floral, fruity fizz with aromas of pear and citrus, leading to a direct, fruit-driven palate with nice weight and purity. It’s delightful stuff.

One of the stalwarts in the Tesco Finest range, this is good quality prosecco

Another perennial contender for best supermarket prosecco. The Bisol version made for Tesco is very delicate, reminiscent of pears, and cobweb light.

I bought a bottle of this for Mothering Sunday (had both my mum and mother-in-law here for lunch) and we managed to quaff a bottle well before the gammon hit the table. And it was as good as it has ever been: fresh, frothy, full of pears and promise. A brilliant pre-proper-food drink. The producer behind this wine is really good - taste a line up of Prosecco (all in a day's work - I know!) and it really does stand out as one of the best. A steal at this price.

A crowd-pleasing, mouthwatering, just-off-dry prosecco from the Bisol cantina near Treviso. Tiny, lively bubbles. Fresh and perfumed with green apple and pear.

Made by a great producer called Bisol, it's frothy, lemon-sheberty and above all, a really happy, uncomplicated drink. Made from the Glera grape in the Veneto region, in northern Italy. Prosecco doesn't need to be expensive but it does need to be fresh. And this one's fresh as a daisy. Ideal party material, just make sure it's served really chilled otherwise it doesn't refresh as it should
