Kabinett is a term used to describe wines that are slightly finer than the normal versions – literally, they are fine enough to put in the winemaker’s ‘cabinet’. They are made from fully ripe grapes but are often on the dry end of the spectrum. Juicily ripe and fruity, the 2015 (on the shelves now) and the 2016 (due in very soon) vintages of this wine are sheer grapey heaven in a glass.
